Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing read the Jubilee Prayer at a civic service held at St John’s Church, Epping, to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Mrs Laing said: “After all the street parties and community events to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee it was fitting and right that the town should have a church service which gave people the chance to remember and mark the Queen’s contribution to this country.”

Mrs Laing added: “The service (led by Canon Rev Geoffrey Connor) was a marvellous occasion which was attended by many local people who came together to thank Her Majesty for her marvellous achievements through music and prayer.”
